There isn’t a single company that has everyone as their customer. Not even Facebook! So let’s be brave and really box in who your true customers are.
Who are they? What do they need? How can you help them? If you don’t know the answers to these questions, it’s time to get organized.

  1. Start by writing down all the people who buy your products and services.
  2. Write down what each of those people needs from your business. You’ll probably find that there are different types of customers—some people have more money than others, and some people need more or less support than others.
  3. Go through your answers and look for patterns. Can you structure them or group them in some way? Maybe similar traits link different groups together.

Once you’ve done this exercise, it’s time to focus on those who are most likely to buy from you right away. Then figure out how to reach out to them—and start selling!
